The result was Pookies™, "Sleepwear that goes Everywear©." In the simplest of terms, Pookies are updated drawstring pants; however that belies the extraordinary fit, comfort and styling that goes into them. Not only is the cut more tailored than traditional drawstring pants, but Pookies are presented in sizes from XS to XXL, completed with side pockets (including a gusseted pocket for a cell phone), and constructed from a superior quality cotton than that used by any mass market line.

World Marketing (WMI), a 25-year old manufacturer of silk fabric and high-quality finished goods, agreed to partner with DFDesigns to produce Pookies and a second line: Laissez-Wear™. Laissez-Wear is an innovative collection of robes, cover-ups, crew shirts, silk shorts, and the Laissez-Wear SleepShirt - a completely new take on the traditional nightshirt. All items are made from high quality silk/linen and linen/cotton blends, woven or knitted to DFDesigns' specifications, custom dyed, and sewn by WMI.

Mr. Nicholson and his partners chose a direct-to-consumer web-based retail model in order to offer Pookies and Laissez-Wear at price points far lower than would be possible in a traditional upscale department store or boutique.

DFDesigns now consists of over 12 partners, all of whom are equity owners. They range in age from early 30's to mid 50's and in experience from entrepreneurial self-employed individuals like Mr. Nicholson and Ms. Robotti, to professional copywriters, and independent technical consultants.

This unique blend of people, combined with the extensive experience of Jerry Mossberg, President of WMI, and Wai Chun Chan, WMI's production manager, has enabled the team to take Mr. Nicholson's idea from conception to market in less than one year - an unheard of timeline for this industry. In this short amount of time, DFDesigns has created an extraordinary line of apparel targeted at sleep and the "between" times when people are neither at work, nor at play, yet for which no company makes specifically designed, tailored, and functional garments.
